Forward or pick up mail
Have pieces shipped to you in one parcel, set up automatic forwarding, or hold mail at the front desk for pickup.
You can forward or pick up mail once your mailbox is active, if the mail center offers it. The owner, admins and managers can ask.
Forward mail
- Step 1In your mailbox, tick each piece you want, or open one piece.
- Step 2Select Forward.
- Step 3Under Ship to, check the address. It starts with your remail address.
- Step 4Check the fee line. Postage is charged at cost when it ships.
- Step 5Select Request forwarding.
Everything you chose goes in one parcel. When it ships, you get an email with the tracking number, and the piece shows the carrier and tracking.
Forward on a schedule
- Step 1On Your mail, under Automatic forwarding, select Set up automatic forwarding.
- Step 2Under How often, choose Weekly, Every 2 weeks or Monthly, then the day.
- Step 3Fill in Ship to, and tick Include packages if you want them sent too.
- Step 4Select Save schedule.
On the day you choose, everything waiting in your mailbox goes out in one shipment. If nothing is waiting, nothing ships. Use Change or Turn off at any time.
Pick up mail
- Step 1Select the piece, or tick several.
- Step 2Select Hold for pickup, then Hold for pickup in the dialog.
- Step 3Bring a photo ID during the location's hours. The mailroom checks it against the names on the mailbox and records who collected it.
Note: After your mailbox closes, USPS rules have the mail center send mail that still arrives to your remail address for 6 months, unless you asked in writing that it not be sent. You do not have to ask for it.
